Giallorossi still ko in Norway

Pellegrini is not enough: Wembangomo and Vetlesen in the final stretch Mourinho, called to the task in the return of the Olimpico

The Bodo / Glimt is confirmed as the black beast of Rome in Conference League: in the first leg of the quarterfinals, the Giallorossi collapse 2-1 in Norway. Pilgrims sign the men’s advantage Mourinho at 43 ‘with a left under the crossbar, but in the second half the formation of Knutsen the limelight with the network of Wembangomo at 56 ’caused by an error of Rui Patricio and the header at 89 ‘ Vetlesen on free kick developments.

After a sensational 6-1 in Norway in the group stage, Bodø / Glimt ruin Roma’s evening in the Conference League yet again. In the first leg of the quarter-finals, Knutsen’s men beat the Giallorossi 2-1, now called to comeback in the return match of the Olimpico. Yet, the evening got off to a good start for Mourinho’s men, who at the end of the first half took the lead with Pellegrini’s left under the crossbar, served with a great ball by Mkhitaryan: winning conclusion in the 43rd minute and the Giallorossi rest ahead of a goal .

The nightmare, however, materializes exactly as in the group match: Bodø / Glimt finds a comeback by exploiting Roma’s mistakes. In the 56th minute, Wembangomo’s shot culpably beats Rui Patricio, who does not reject the central shot well and is beaten 1-1 just before the hour of play. Pellegrini sees another goal canceled, Mourinho is forced to insert Smalling in place of the injured Mancini and, right in the final, here is the goal that decides the match. At 89 ‘, Pellegrino’s free kick and another not irresistible header from Vetlesen, which is worth the 2-1 final. The forcing in recovery is useless: it ends in triumph, once again, for Bodø / Glimt. And, once again, the Giallorossi will be called to the challenge against a team never beaten in these three previous season: in fact, at the Olimpico, they finished 2-2, a result that cannot be repeated in the return for Mourinho’s men.
