MotoGP 2022: the MOWgelle of the MotoGP after the third day of school in Termas de Rio Hondo

Three races and nine different riders on the podium, whoever said that without Valentino Rossi we would be bored was very wrong. And in Argentina, then, there was also the yellow of the airlines that did not arrive. Finally, Aprilia and Aleix Espargarò have finally arrived, making us really enjoy this first Sunday in April.

V.oto 0 to Pol Espargarò. Honda is in trouble, Marc Marquez is not there and you have an expiring contract; there is only one thing to do: take the glorious RC213V of the glorious Repsol Team under the checkered flag. Beyond the placement, beyond the result. What does Pol do instead? He stretches out, pinching himself to keep up with the leaders on the day when his brother, considered less talented and even more nerdy, goes to win for the first time in MotoGP in his career and brings him to the top step of the podium, always for the first. time, the Aprilia. We just have to cry (with joy for Aleix)!

V.oto 1 to logistics. Ok the war, ok the crisis, ok everything, but that for a MotoGP race everyone arrives except the bikes is a little laugh. For heaven’s sake, Don Carmelo Ezpeleta then solved it in a big way, concentrating everything in two races, but the cargo planes that do not guarantee the delivery of the cargo are a little laugh. Come on then!

Vote 2 to Ducati. Jorge Martin said it clearly: we went back with the settings, getting as close as possible to last year’s bike. Luca Marini also said something very similar. It should be enough to get out of the Lenovo Team box and admit that maybe this year’s bike is wrong and we need to take a step back. It is true that Pecco has made a great recovery, but it cannot be enough. Run for cover to run better!

V.oto 3 to the choice of Andrea Dovizioso. He rejected any courtship on the part of Aprilia to get on a Yamaha that if it were called Ronzinante would not be an insult. Yet, after years with Ducati, the Aprilia would certainly have been a bike more suited to its characteristics as a striker with that granite front end that the RS-GP has. Dovi, on the other hand, preferred Yamaha, with a newly born team and few guarantees. The result? Bad in Qatar and then two retirements. Sliding doors?

Rated 4 to Yamaha. When Fabio Quartararo fails miracles, the Yamaha disappears. Nothing more to say, your honor!

V.oto 5 to Johann Zarco. The mistake must always do so and sometimes it is irreversible. It also happened to him in Argentina, only the good Johann has to be careful, because in Ducati the young people grow and promise well and the risk of being left without a saddle is high … very high. Furthermore, the impression is that he suffers a little too much exuberance from his box mate, but in this way he is not “being champion”. Daje!

Rated 6 to Enea Bastianini. Usual comeback, but also a mistake due to too much enthusiasm. In the end he brought home a good result, but that long one shortly after halfway through the race risked costing him too much, especially in a GP that saw his direct opponent as the protagonist towards the dream of the official Ducati team! Beware that you fall!

V.oto 7 to Suzuki. Quiet quiet you always find them there. This time with Rins ahead and Mir just behind and if the championship maintains this balance, the possibility of seeing 2020 repeated is more than concrete. Whengood, but not very good “is enough.

Rated 8 to Team Mooney VR46. Nobody believed it, it seemed more like a great commercial operation than a real sporting adventure, instead they dominate in Moto2 with Vietti and are doing well in MotoGP with Marco Bezzecchi and Luca Marini. Bezzecchi also put the wheels in front of his teammate who started from the front row in the race, proving to have a great handle and attracting Ducati’s attention. Perfect speed just means being there, being there!

V.oto 9 to Fabio Quartararo. Anyone else would have sent everyone to fan * by Saturday. How much patience!

Rated 10 to Jorge Martin. This one is really strong: he has the right madness, he is as fast as few and when needed he is also capable of being satisfied. In Argentina you understood that Aleix Espargarò wanted to win at any cost and he, Jorge, gave up without staying too long. Today he is Ducati’s top man, because the numbers speak for themselves, and he too is the only rider who has always started from the front row in three races. In our opinion, the legacy of Marc Marquez belongs to this guy here. Chapeau!

V.oto 10 and praise to Aprilia. A crazy pleasure, a story that is renewed, the memory of the years with the fifties and the smell of mixture marked by that A on the fairings or on the shield of the scooters. Aprilia is the story of all of us who fell in love with motorcycles as kids. Aprilia is the metaphor of those who have grown up and wanted to become even bigger. Beautiful to make a boast!
